WEEKLY UPDATE

With many players away for the long weekend, today featured short benches and several new faces. The day began with a forfeit, followed by a tightly contested back-and-forth game. Game two was one-sided, showing clear dominance from the winning team. The third game nearly saw an impressive comeback from the underdogs. Overall, it was an eventful day—happy Canada Day, everyone!

Pink Pony Club vs Raising Eyebrows

The first period was a tightly contested battle, with both teams going neck and neck early on. PPC pulled ahead with a 2-0 lead, but RE responded by narrowing the gap to 2-1. PPC quickly answered to make it 3-1, but RE surged back with two late goals, including a power-play marker, tying it 3-3 by the break. In the second period, Annalisa Mazzarello took control of the game offensively. She scored both goals in the frame, completing a hat trick and securing a 5-3 victory for PPC.

Le Parlement vs Up in the Air

LP controlled the game from start to finish, dominating possession and pace. They built a strong 3-0 lead by the break, keeping UITA off the scoreboard in the first period. UITA managed to break the shutout six minutes into the second, showing brief signs of life. However, LP quickly regained momentum and continued to apply pressure. Martin Tremblay led the charge with a hat trick, sealing a commanding 6-1 win for LP.

Under Achievers vs Capital City Lions

CCL dominated the first period, jumping out to a 4-0 lead. A special moment came as Nick Perron reached his 1000th career point. UA responded with intensity in the second, cutting the deficit to two early on. With five minutes remaining, Richard Tattrie gave CCL a 5-2 cushion, but UA quickly struck back and made it 5-3. After pulling their goalie, UA scored again to make it 5-4 with 40 seconds left, but CCL held on to secure the win.
