Week #5 at St-Laurent brought another entertaining night of ball hockey, featuring fast-paced action, competitive battles, and strong performances across the board. Players continued to demonstrate excellent teamwork and determination, creating scoring chances while also committing to solid defensive play. Goaltenders were called upon throughout the evening and responded with several important saves to keep the games exciting. The atmosphere at St-Laurent remains positive and competitive as players continue to improve and push each other every week. Keep bringing the energy, supporting your teammates, and enjoying the game!

RECAPS – St-Laurent
6pm - White C vs Black C
The game featured strong defensive play and timely scoring as Team Black controlled the pace from start to finish. Felix Caron opened the scoring with a goal assisted by Émile Lemieux, while Curtis Picard added two goals of his own to build a comfortable lead of 3-0 for Team Black. After halftime, Felix struck again on another setup from Émile, giving him two goals and Émile two assists on the day. Team White continued to battle and was rewarded when Paris Nicolaou scored with help from Daniel Estevam and Jake McGrath, but Team Black remained in control and secured a 4-1 victory. Felix Caron was named the 1st Star, Émile Lemieux the 2nd Star, and Curtis Picard the 3rd Star. Victor Lacroix earned Player of the Game honours for his outstanding defensive effort, highlighted by a crucial clearance from his own end zone that allowed his teammates to transition quickly into attack. Featured Goalie of the night was Felix Savage, who delivered a composed and impressive performance between the pipes, allowing just one goal.

7pm - White B vs Black B
The game featured plenty of offensive chances and momentum swings, with both teams finding ways to generate quality scoring opportunities. Team White opened the scoring when Jakob Labonté finished a breakaway, scoring on a backhand rebound with help from Olivier Carrière-Mailhot, but Team Black responded immediately as Brodie McKenna buried a shot, top corner, right off the faceoff from a pass by Duke McKenna. Angelle Marier restored White’s lead with a highlight-reel penalty shot, deking and scoring backhand low glove side, before Levi Blais and Brodie McKenna connected to tie the game. Brodie struck again later in the half off another setup from Duke McKenna to give Black the advantage heading into halftime 3-2. In the second half, Angelle Marier scored a second goal on a one-timer from the slot off a feed from Benjamin Caron, but Team Black took control with goals from Brodie McKenna, Edmund Leger, Abigail Rodrigue, and James Geigel. Brodie capped off a dominant performance with a fifth goal after another excellent setup from Duke McKenna. Brodie McKenna earned 1st Star honours for a five-goal effort, Levi Blais was named 2nd Star for a strong two-assist performance, and Duke McKenna claimed 3rd Star with three assists. The Featured Player of the Game was Angelle Marier, whose fearless play was highlighted by one of two goals, a top-shelf one-timer through traffic.

8pm - White A vs Black A
The game featured a strong offensive performance from Team White, who controlled much of the play with quick ball movement, effective finishing, and excellent teamwork. Howard Vereyken opened the scoring for Team White after capitalizing on a turnover in the high slot and beating the goaltender five-hole. Noah Jones then took over offensively, recording a hat trick with goals off setups from Louis John and Owen Amoli before completing a three-point shift with his third marker. Team Black answered with a skilled goal from Alexy Giroux, who patiently stick handled to the net before scoring top shelf. Team White continued to build momentum as Jacob Hamel and Louis John added goals, giving White a commanding 6-1 lead at halftime. In the second half, Edouard Lemieux and Alexy Giroux each scored for Team Black, but Team White maintained control with goals from Sam Nordraven, Louis John, Alex Redenbach, and another Louis John tally to complete a four-goal performance. Team White ran away with an 11-3 victory. Louis John earned 1st Star honours with four goals and an assist, Noah Jones was named 2nd Star after recording a first-half hat trick, and Owen Amoli claimed 3rd Star with three assists. The Featured Player of the Game was Howard Vereyken, whose smart movement into open space consistently created opportunities for passes, shots, and offensive pressure throughout the game.

While stats aren’t everything, part of introducing the kids to HTBHL is giving them a taste of what our adult leagues experience. The 3 stars listed in the schedule section of the website will primarily be selected based on game statistics, just as they are in our adult leagues. That said, we’ll also highlight players from each game who may not have scored a goal, but stood out through their teamwork, sportsmanship, and effort.
