WEEKLY UPDATE – Belltown Dome

A reminder to please BRING BOTH WHITE AND BLACK SHIRTS

Week #5 at Belltown Dome delivered another thrilling evening of hockey, highlighted by strong teamwork, relentless effort, and plenty of end-to-end action. Players competed hard in every shift, creating scoring opportunities while defensive units and goaltenders stepped up with key plays at crucial moments. The intensity and excitement continue to build each week, making Belltown Dome a great environment for players to develop, compete, and enjoy the game.

 

TOP 5 game day reminders to make you an MVP:

1) ARRIVE EARLY, at least 10 minutes early: This will allow you time to check in, get ready and warm-up.

2) BRING BOTH WHITE AND BLACK SHIRTS

3) NAME ON HELMET please before hitting the slab: Forgot? Tape, markers and scissors are by the rink door entrance.

4) WATER = your best teammate! Stay hydrated to play better!

RECAPS – Belltown Dome

6pm - White C vs Black C

In a tightly contested ball hockey game, both teams traded chances and momentum throughout the match. Team White struck first when Nolan Cooper finished a play set up by Karim Mazhar with a shot through the five-hole. Karim later doubled White’s lead after receiving a pass from Nolan and scoring from in front of the net. Team Black responded with determination as Austin Tessier buried a rebound created by Amélya Poulette and Milena Touhlova before adding a second goal on a setup from Poulette and Nathan Di Muzio to tie the game 2-2 at halftime. The deadlock remained until Charlie Markey scored the game-winning goal in the second half, lifting Team Black to a 3-2 victory. Karim Mazhar earned 1st Star honours, Nolan Cooper was named 2nd Star, and Austin Tessier received 3rd Star. The Featured Player of the Game was Amélya Poulette, whose two assists played a crucial role in her team's comeback and showcased her excellent vision and passing ability.

7pm - White B vs Black B 

A fast-paced and high-scoring contest kept both teams engaged from start to finish. Team White built an early advantage when Dane Pinto opened the scoring on a pass from Elliot Francis, followed by Daniel Ricci finishing a setup from Sam Tse. Team Black responded with a point shot goal from Benjamin Davis to make it 2-1 at halftime. The second half featured plenty of offence as Aron Tyldum scored twice, with both goals assisted by Ada Francis, while Dane Pinto completed a hat trick and Elliot Francis added two goals of his own. Team Black continued to battle back with goals from Declan Bailey, Michael Palumbo, Rowan Vick, and Luca Palumbo, receiving support from Nolan Morrow, Malcolm Speers, and Nolan Cooper. Despite the push from Team Black, Team White's relentless attack proved too much to overcome as they earned an 8-5 victory. Dane Pinto was named 1st Star after recording three goals, Elliot Francis earned 2nd Star with two goals and an assist, and Ada Francis was selected as the 3rd Star for her two assists. The Featured Player of the Game was Aron Tyldum, whose excellent hockey IQ, ability to find open space, and explosive speed made him one of the most dangerous players on the floor. Parker Watt was named the Featured Goalie of the Game for making several key saves and providing a steady presence in net throughout the game.

8pm - White A vs Black A 

A strong offensive performance helped Team White control the game from the opening minutes. Harjot Vaid opened the scoring before Team Black answered with goals from Mehdi El Kebir and Tristan von Teichman to briefly take the lead. Team White quickly regained momentum as Matthew Morrisey scored off passes from Harjot Vaid and Vincent Biron, followed by goals from Harjot, Cameron Tapp, and Vincent Biron to build a 5-2 advantage by halftime. The second half saw Team White continue to apply pressure, with Harjot adding several more goals while Édouard Lemieux contributed a pair of tallies, including one assisted by David Spottswood. Cameron Tapp and Édouard Lemieux also picked up assists during the dominant stretch. Team Black continued to compete hard, receiving goals from Mathias Simpson, Matthew Morrisey, and Louis John, with Tristan von Teichman and Matthew Morrisey collecting multiple assists. In the end, Team White's balanced attack and relentless offensive pressure secured a 12-6 victory. Harjot Vaid (7G/3A) was named the 1st Star, Matthew Morrisey (2G/1A) earned 2nd Star honours, and Tristan von Teichman (1G/3A) was selected as the 3rd Star. The Featured Player of the Game was Maxwell Davis, whose relentless energy and attack-mode mentality helped drive his team's effort from start to finish.

While stats aren’t everything, part of introducing the kids to HTBHL is giving them a taste of what our adult leagues experience. The 3 stars listed in the schedule section of the website will primarily be selected based on game statistics, just as they are in our adult leagues. That said, we’ll also highlight players from each game who may not have scored a goal, but stood out through their teamwork, sportsmanship, and effort.
