TOP PERFORMERS

Coming up clutch in the playoffs were SD Jake Daigle, SD Dan Montpetit and HB Curtis Stacey who each put up FIVE points to lead all players in scoring.  The top sniper was the aforementioned HB Stacey with FIVE tallies while the top playmakers were SD Montpetit, OR Todd Holmes and SD Daigle with THREE apples apiece.  Between the pipes, OR Ryan Girgrah gets the nod as the top goaltender recording the lone SHUTOUT while facing TWENTY-THREE shots to help his team claim the A title.

RECAPS

B - Sonk Daddies (3) vs Blue Eagles (2)

First game of the night and B semis… The scoring began, with Sonk Daddies’ (SD), Jake Daigle (3G/2A) opening the scoring with a well-timed shot from the point capitalizing on a rebound opportunity to give his team an early lead. As the game progressed, SD continued to apply pressure and took advantage of a power play where Taylor Beeman (1G/1A) fired an accurate shot, while the goalie was screened, leaving him helpless to make the save. The chemistry between Daigle and Dan Montpetit (2G/3A) was evident as they connected once again extending their lead to 3-0. Beeman attempted a backhand which resulted in the ball rolling onto Brent Stewart’s (2G/1A) stick, catching the opposing goalie, Andrew Riff, off-guard, and finding the back of the net. The Blue Eagles (BE), however, fought back and Ben Plazek (1A) executed a backhanded pass in the center slot to Tim Plazek (1G), leading to a powerful one-timer that found its way past the SD' goaltender, narrowing the score to 3-1. As the game continued, SD's Montpetit and Daigle displayed their lethal partnership once more, combining for 2 more goals extending their lead and leaving BE with an uphill battle. A minute later, Stewart took advantage of a scramble in front of the net when he found himself alone and put another goal on the board for SD. BE pushed forward in a last-ditch effort to score. However, the ball ended up on SD's sticks, leading to a swift counterattack and buried the ball into the net. The final score of 8-1 reflected the dominant performance of SD, securing their place in the B finals.
